Art and Sea in Provence is the crossroad of two passions, Mayke's lifelong devotion to her art and JP's passion for the sea.
This blog is the diary of our return to this endearing part of the Mediterranean coast where hidden away in our mountain hamlet we meld our dreams.
For those interested in either of our passions the links below will lead you to Mayke's visual art website or JP's new challenge: the Greening of Sean Seamour III website.
The Greening of Sean Seamour III is a long term project designed to monitor and analyze new and emerging technologies important to bettering our environment and to help mariners and sailors who aspire to go green choose and implement the appropriate solutions. A Nauticat 33 is the test bed for maturing technologies sailing towards a future phase-out of fossil fuels. We invite you to join our crew of mariners from around the world who seek to make the sea a greener place to be.

This is the log of actions and events driven by the only subsequently named Sub-tropical Storm Andrea, leading to the sinking of s/v Sean Seamour II and the successful rescue of its entire crew on the early morning of May 7th 2007. The critical underlying issues are: faulty EPIRB operation, faulty maintenance, faulty certification. How many others like us are lost at sea statistics because they didn't carry two EPIRBS? more »
